The visionary game developer, who helped create the immensely successful franchise Call of Duty, has passed away in a car accident in Los Angeles, California he was 55 years old.

His passing was announced by Electronic Arts, the publisher that controls Respawn Entertainment, the video game company he co-founded.

The influential industry figure lost his life when his car crashed and burst into flames on a freeway in LA on Sunday, as reported by.

"This represents a heartbreaking loss, and we stand with Vince's loved ones, his loved ones, and everyone impacted by his creative vision," an official with Electronic Arts commented.
