Real Madrid brought in Trent Alexander-Arnold with a multi-year contract

The defender's rehabilitation is advancing according to plan, raising hope that the Real Madrid right-back could be fit soon enough to face his former team Liverpool in the upcoming Champions League tie.

The English player sustained a muscle injury during a match against French club Marseille in the group stage of the competition on 16 September.

Alexander-Arnold was forced off the field in the fifth minute, with early indications indicating a possible layoff of as long as six weeks.

Real Madrid are scheduled to play at Liverpool on November 4 for the European fixture—precisely seven weeks since the injury took place.

Reports familiar with the situation state that the player's healing process is moving along positively, and there is expectation that Alexander-Arnold could achieve his first return to Liverpool's stadium after moving to Real Madrid in June.

A devoted Liverpool supporter, Alexander-Arnold previously stated that leaving the team he joined as a six-year-old youth talent was the "hardest decision he has ever taken."

During his time with the Merseyside club, Alexander-Arnold made 354 games, helping secure multiple English top-flight championships, a Champions League, and the domestic cup.

After moving to Madrid, Alexander-Arnold has played five times in various tournaments, accumulating over two and a half hours of playing time.
