Iranian Forces State Assault on American Facility in the Kingdom of Bahrain, As Part of Regional Counterattacks.
Iranian forces say they have struck a US naval base in Bahrain, as the country executed missile attacks across the region in retaliation for a large-scale and ongoing assault targeting the nation by the United States and Israeli forces.
Large columns of dark smoke were observed billowing from an zone close to the headquarters of the American Fifth Fleet in Bahrain's capital, Manama. The full scale of any impact is not yet known and the United States has not commented.
Airspace Engagements
Elsewhere across the region, the UAE, Qatar and Kuwait - which all house American military installations - reported they have engaged and destroyed missiles in their airspace.
In Doha, the Qatari Ministry of Defence said it had successfully engaged a number of projectiles seemingly aimed at the al-Udeid air base, the biggest US military installation in the region.
IRGC Statement
The Iranian Revolutionary Guard declared it was attacking American facilities and interests as part of military campaign "Truthful Promise 4", in retaliation for the attack on Iran initiated by the United States and its ally Israel on Saturday.
That preceding assault - executed at approximately 09:15 Iran time - has so far targeted areas linked to the Tehran's leadership, with President Trump urging the Iranian people to rise up against the leadership.
Additional Developments
In Israel, air raid sirens sounded nationwide after the Israel Defense Forces stated it had detected an incoming Iranian missile barrage.
The defence ministry of the United Arab Emirates said in a statement that the country has been subjected to a "a blatant attack involving Iranian ballistic missiles".
"Emirati air defenses responded to the projectiles with great effectiveness and successfully intercepted a series of missiles," it added.
The statement noted debris landed in a residential area in Abu Dhabi, causing some property damage and the death of one civilian.
The United States Air Force is stationed at the Al Dhafra base, to the south of Abu Dhabi, along with the Emirati Air Force.
