Ex- Doctor Accused of Assault Allegations Against Thirty-Eight Patients
Legal authorities report that a ex- doctor now faces charges for performing assaults against thirty-eight individuals who were under his care.
The Grave Charges
The accused, Nathaniel Spencer from Birmingham is accused of numerous acts of sexual assault – including some against minors under the age of thirteen – spanning the period from 2017 to 2021.
A senior prosecutor said, “Our prosecutors have worked at length to support a detailed and complex investigation, meticulously examining the available evidence to determine that there is sufficient evidence to bring the case to trial and that it is in the interest of justice.”
The Investigation
These allegations come after what police described as a “complex investigation” into reported sexual offences at two hospitals: the Royal Stoke university hospital and a facility in Dudley.
Spencer is due to appear at the North Staffordshire justice centre on January 20th.
List of Charges
Prosecutors said the forty-five charges include:
- Fifteen counts of assault.
- Seventeen counts of penetrative assault.
- 9 counts of sexual assault of a child under 13.
- 3 counts of penetrative assault on a child under thirteen.
- 1 count of attempting to assault by penetration.
